Ft Lauderdale

Tons of art galleries in Ft. Lauderdale --- mostly on Las Olas Blvd -- but others sprinkled through the town.

Sam [my brother] and I found a lot of people willing to talk and share ideas about the art in the area. For the most part... as you would expect -- sales are down and the economy is hurting them.... but there seems to be an air of perseverance -- and I found the spirit refreshing.

There is NO loss for people on the streets-- the area is crawling with northerners and tourists. It's wonderful to see all the cars, people, enthusiasum..... it's so different that St Louis!

Carol, I am vicariously enjoying your visit to Ft. Lauderdale. I have been there many times and been to all of those galleries and little coffee cafes on Las Olas Blvd. There is a small cake decorating shop worth visiting also -- an artform all its own. Please send some warm breezes and sunshine to the upper midwest -- the weather here is dreadful.
