Triptych Watercolor-- JOURNEY

I haven't posted much the last few days----  I'm getting ready for my small INTRUDERS show.

There is a lot of marketing and other responsibilities involved.....

But... I have been working on 5 large watercolors for the show.  They will form a cryptic multiple painting seen above.

Please let me know what you think.


Each panel will be sold separately [or together]... but each will be individually painted and framed.


The concept and title is JOURNEY.   It's a reference to the journey the bug goes through in his life- as well as the journey I've been through in documenting these wonderful creatures of the bug kingdom.

More and more bugs!!  in fact.. the series is almost complete!  I should have it wrapped up tomorrow.

The last 20 has proved to be the most fulfilling and clever.  There was a need to make them the best!


Here is a sample.

I will be working on the children's book next week.  Should be fun.

The show is coming together---  frames, venues, tees, collection.

All in all.. it will be a blast!!

I am getting closer to accomplishing my goal....   100 bugs and then writing a children's book.


I am at bug 72.... and counting.


Here are five new ones!  They are more colorful and compositional than the the others.

I am challenging myself to be the "most" creative with the final 28-- so that the collection really SINGS!

Small Intruders- watercolor

A taste of a section of my OPEN STUDIO next Friday, NOV 30.

I am doing a series of SMALL INTRUDERS.  A delightful series of unique portraits of insects.

Each one is jewel like-- with just enough detail to distinquish the species.  They aren't overly accurate-- no rendering for me!  But rather... beautiful simple portaits of bugs that delight and inspire.

They look great one-on-one... or all together!
