Recent Watercolor- Virgin Islands and Everglades

Now that Italy is done -- I have FINALLY been turning my attention to watercolor and new subjects.

My work on the Everglades is starting to begin again-- GATOR!

I am trying to finish the work on my beloved Gator painting. It's slow going.. because I don't know what I'm doing! I haven't painted watercolor in a while ... so learning the nuances again has been tough.

I have also worked on two images from the Virgin Islands. I want to do a few paintings on that subject to send to my gallery there-- MANGO TANGO.

The rooster is a wild one -- from the beach on St. Thomas. The birds are everywhere!

The school of fish is also fun to paint.

Glad to be back on my home turf of watercolor. I shall be working this medium for the next few months.

Carol, your work is really wonderful. The watercolors are loose with just the right amount of details.

Thank you!!! I love the looser style in watercolor-- It's such a wet medium with a voice of it's own! Enjoyed your comment.

Carol, you don't know what you're doing?
Umm, I find that hard to believe. Even so
what you're doing is awesome!

I do like the looser more spontaneous
style of the rooster! Wonderful.

I can't wait to see the big gator. I appreciate that
you're sharing the process with us.

The fish seem so simple in approach. For me the
thing that sets it off are the bright blue ripples of the
surface water. Really ties it all together.

You're a wonderful artist and painter. I admire
you and your talents!

Doug, Thank you for having so much faith in me! I feel like i am new to watercolor again... after so much time off. I am trying to raise the bar of my technique...and it is proving to be difficult! Thank you so much for your encouragement. It means a lot to me right now.
