My work on a BILLBOARD!
Here's a slightly better photo of the billboard with my work. The commission is for the competition for the best gospel choir in America -- taking place in St. Louis in September.
My art -- is an interpretation of that event.
It's a large scale watercolor of THE ROCK CHURCH in St. Louis.
This particular billboard is on Choteau Avenue -- just east of Grand.
Take a look! It was a surprise to me this morning!

My work on a BILLBOARD!
While traveling to work today... I saw a billboard with my art on it! it's for a gospel choir contest happening in St. Louis in September.
I always knew that there would be publicity around this event...and that they would use my art -- but i wasn't prepared for it!
It's a huge rush to see something you've created so LARGE!
yay!

DECOR Magazine- Norway
DECOR Magazine in Norway published a nice article on my work this month. The magazine is a wonderful compilation of art and artists at work.
Margrete Tennfjord, Editor of DECOR Magasinet did a tremendous job with the layout and photoshopping the images. The paintings are vivid and the presentation is superb. The text is in Norwegian -- but some English too.
I am so happy to have been included- Thank you Margrete.
Pick up a copy if you live in NORWAY!

oldies- watercolors
I finally was able to make digital photos of two swimmers that i like a lot. they were painted 2003-- well before i moved into my current studio.
there's a hotness to the palette that you don't see in my current work. they were also painted as a pair -- companion pieces as i like to call them.
however, as always.. they can [and probably will] be sold separately.

Portrait of the Day- watercolor
this larger scale portrait of zoe is finished. i have to work on her brother -- Cal today... for the commission to be complete.
they are a cute couple of young adults....

Reeds Watercolor
Here is a large scale watercolor of reeds -- that has taken some time to complete.
I am really happy with the palette -- and the complexity of the piece. There is a sultry character to this painting... that is sometimes missing in my other work.
Will frame it tomorrow for an exhibition.

Interview for Verizon Wireless
I did a commission last spring... for a highly visible project --- which has yet to be released.
In preparation for publicity -- this LA producer came to St. Louis to interview me about the commission.
He was fun, lively, and well prepared.
The commissioned pieces are from 14 states - by 14 artists and will be featured starting in September.
I will let you know more details -- as they become available.

Palm Mania! watercolor
Palms have been my focus this past week. i'm trying to scope out a show of botanicals.. and felt that it needed a palm or two.
here are two watercolors that stand on their own... but are meant to hang side by side.
i had a tough time with getting them to be simple and bright... and at the same time... complex in the composition and energy.

Renaissance Grand Hotel- St Louis, MO
Here is the main entrance to the RENAISSANCE GRAND HOTEL in St. Louis. My large watercolor GRAND BANANAS are placed right at the front!
This was a surprise... as they had been located downstairs during the initial installation.
Woo hoo! What a lift to see them here!
