well... you know... i thought i was done with the Italian Suite exhibition-- but... i have an opportunity to show it in a larger venue next winter.
the larger venue requires more work to fill the space.... so need to continue to paint!
it was weird going back to small scale acrylics -- after almost two months of watercolors of Everglades and gulf coast.
It was a bit refreshing though --- to switch gears!
I liked the feel of the acrylic paint... and i experienced a freedom that wasn't there before i left for residency.
worked mostly on this acrylic -- and will start a smaller one tomorrow.
i need to develop at least another 20 or so -- to fill the rooms.
stay tuned for dates/times/venue for the ITALIAN SUITE!

Congratulations on this new opportunity. I am looking forward to seeing all those new and beautiful Italian suite paintings.
Have a great Holiday weekend.
thanks christiane... it feels good to be back to painting italy. i want to finish the show with a bang and not a whimper. although the imagery from the Gulf and the Everglades is calling... i want to be dedicated to finishing former deadlines! you have a good holiday too...
Carol its wonderful to see new Italian works in this amazing style you are using for this project. The light is overwhelming and I love bikes. Didn't you have another piece with a bike in this series? Another 20 pieces to create - phenominal.
yes joan, i have to fill a big space! it's a small scale show... so i need multiple pieces. it's a lovely way to work... i'm really liking this technique too. yes.. i do have another bike painting... actually 2 more. so.. this will make 3. currently working on one with road signs. happy fourth!
I like the forcefulness of this one and those delicious drizzles! Congratulations on getting an even bigger venue - more paintings to see for us!!
I find this acrylic very beautiful Carol, but I prefer your watercolors ( as you understand )!
I wish you some courage for the preparation of your exhibition this winter. Happy projects! Best regards.
rhonda.. you bet! i'm glad to be finishing this show.. and doubly glad to have a venue for it! hope you are having a good summer....
olivia-- thank you for your honesty.. in telling me your preference... i have many devoted watercolor clients.. who like the acrylics.. but prefer the watercolor. i am enjoying the magazine.. and soon.. you will be getting something in the mail too...
