Well, after biking the Shark Valley yesterday... and photographing till the later evening. ... I decided to stay indoors today and paint.
I worked on 4 watercolors-- finishing them in time to post.
I am using Fabriano hot press paper... which gives a different effect.
The slicker surface is better for detail work.
I saw an owl last night-- and another incredible sunset.
Will go this evening to do the same.
I am reading Marjorie S. Douglas --
EVERGLADES: RIVER OF GRASS

Oh, boy, love that spider web the most!!
ReplyDeleteI am not a watercolor painter 9as you know) but I love that hot press paper for journals. It is sweet! And you are making bee-you-tee-ful paintings on it!
ReplyDeleteOh Carol, super. Love the intesity of the egret painting. Are these all Fabriano ?
ReplyDeleteThanks all..
ReplyDeletei think most are painted on fabriano... or hot press arches. don't really know.. as most of the paper i am using are scraps from last semester of teaching. i have no watermarks or embossing to identify!
but, the weather is warm and wet today.. perfect for watercolor. will post more paintings tomorrow!
This series has so much impact - i especially like the light in the egret painting but they all are wonderful.
